Watagan Park

Nature's Playground

Nature’s Playground

Living in Watagan Park has been promoted as getting close to nature due in part to the proximity to Watagan Ranges National Park.  However, it is possible to live an outdoor lifestyle without even leaving the Watagan Park development boundaries.

The beautiful shared pathways throughout the subdivision allow for a number of pursuits such as walking, cycling and birdwatching.  People interested in joining a formalised approach to any of the above should register their interest through the feedback options in this website.

Walking

Many people are already regular walkers within and around the estate and many have formed wonderful friendships through this activity.  If anyone is interested in forming a walkers’ group then please make contact.

Cycling

Cycling is a popular activity with young people and older being regular users of the roadways and shared pathways around the estate.  Nearby links to the Watagan Ranges National Park are well utilised.

Birdwatching

Birdwatching in Watagan Park has developed into a double benefit for participants.  Walk and catch up with this spectacular part of nature at the same time!  Already over 100 species of birds have been recorded here and the ongoing support given by the eBird.org website, to record and manage lists around our hotspot is greatly appreciated.  Again if residents are interested in joining this activity please make contact.

Future Events

There are a number of emerging ideas for activities to build collaboration within our Watagan Park community, and people interested in helping these ideas to materialise should make contact.  Some ideas discussed to date include:

Twilight movie screenings

Barbeques

Clean up the road verges working bee

Clean up the ponds day

Walk for charity
